2006 saw a fruitful partnership develop between Breakthrough and Green Fingers at Debdale Park.  Like the plants, our relationship with the Green Fingers initiative has flourished in 2007.  Some trainees haveA trainee and supervisor are shown putting pumpkins and marrows into a wheelbarrow at Debdale Park's allotment. gained skills from tending allotments and ornamental gardens at the park, while others have been busy making garden benches, bird tables and decorative wheelbarrows using the facilities on offer at Debdale.  In return for the use of the facilities, Breakthrough Training Supervisors are sharing their knowledge of National Skills Profile (NSP) qualifications with Manchester City Council’s Day Services staff.  This means that more disabled people can gain recognised qualifications from the work they do at the park.
